Root Please help me root Nexus 7 2012 4.4.4

Please help me! I need to root my Nexus 7 2012 with KitKat 4.4.4. I'm trying to do it without a PC because my USB cable busted... I tried TowelRoot but it wasn't supported so I came here for help.
 
You can pick up a USB cable for almost nothing on Amazon. If that's your only reason for not using a PC, replace the USB cable.
 
Without a cable how does it get charged?

Perhaps the OP meant that there was no USB connectivity and just assumed it was the cable at fault; unfortunately broken USB ports on the N7 are fairly common.

I assumed the AC cable is working fine.
 
Maybe he just doesn't have the proper drivers installed. Use wugs root toolkit to install drivers. As far as I know its not possible to root without a PC.

Yes, i know. I own one. ;-) However, i saw no complaint about charging. :-)
 
That's why I said perhaps he meant the USB was broken (rather than the cable) in response to the suggestion to buy a new cable :-)

Anyway, the OP seems to have lost interest so it's all a bit moot now.
