im a big G+ fan lately and theres a Phandroid Android Forums community started by the owner of our site but its a virtual ghost town and needs populated.
Even if you havent explored Google+ yet, this is a great place to start.
If you have a gmail account then you already have a G+ account so please follow the link above, join the community and leave a message. Thanks peeps

Why? I want no part of Google except for Play. I have Yahoo groups. This forum does perfectly well. Sticks to the subject and mostly stays on track.

Why? Because G+ is an excellent interface with more options/features than a traditional forum interface.
Im not suggesting that people abandon the forums.. i love these forums.. i see it as more of an add-on or enhancement.
Hopefully it will be well moderated similar to how these forums are :)

Gotta love the anti-Google paranoia. They way I see it, Google knows everything about me anyway, might as well get some benefit :P

It's convenient for message boards to have a social media counterpart in case of downtime. I haven't noticed any on this forum, but a car related forum that I frequent tends to have outages from time to time, and the facebook group then comes into play.

1. No one I know still uses Yahoo! groups. I actually thought that company was dead at one point until they bought Astrid.

2. A lot of Devs are in Google+. My Account there isn't getting updated much, but I use it to follow them. They're pretty easier to get a hold of over there than over email or wherever.

3. As with always, you can always use a dummy account with no/fake personal information should you prefer, and only access it via a PC browser.

Good point Chan.
Im beta testing apps for two app devs just now who have G+ communities including Nova Launcher by one of AF's members and g+ is a good informal way to interact with the dev (without all the things that make us not want to post on XDA)
Same goes for the rom devs :)

G+ is great for most interests you have. All my physical friends use FB but g+ is great for hobbies etc. in my case android and pets but theres something there for everyone and trolls are surprisingly rare and easily muted

I'm not social. I only use FB to see kid's moggies.

I remember the old Groups that Google took over, Usenet, not sure. I have never seen so many damn trolls and spammers in my life!

Google only has what I buy in Play. My Gmail account is for spam only. I don't use Google search, deleted Google Voice (I need to call the UK, so Viber does better)
Don't buy anything but apps from Google. Search has been hidden on the phone.
I simply won't use one source exclusively since that's the trend. Might get to the point that you have to sign up your kid at birth and kid is stuck with your choice.

Each to their own, but there are plenty of communities on G+, it's a good resource for anyone from a smartphone beginner, to the ROM flashers and Dev's, as well as everything in between. Now who was it said "variety is the spice of life"?

Oh yeah, joined!

Ill tell my cat story again lol. Our cat fell out the 3rd story window at 1:30am last week. Vet was closed so i posted on g+ asking for help. The post got reshared and within 10mins i was chatting to a qualified vet.
Some really nice and knowledgeable peeps on there :)
(Cat is ok btw, one life down) :D
