Root PMP Rom experiment

Im going to be attempting a port for the ally concerning people wanting to turn their allys into a PMP device. Il be taking nook software and injecting and modifying it as a pmp rom for your unactivated ally.
It will be using android 2.3 software (hence the unactivated part)
Anyone wanting to pitch in concerning a theme or software development, by all means.

Not very convinced its gna work but il have something for unactivated users either way

I've played around with the idea before on my D1 by disabling the radio through the boot.img. Out seems to improve the battery life.
I don't know if it would matter on this case though.

Yeah, ive been trn to find time to work on this but its goen slowly. Probably be another trashed idea as things arnt working properly as i wanted them to.

I like the idea of this rom, one suggestion would be rather then use nook for a media player(at least for audio) take a look at rockbox(i know its still a work in progress but it works well on some phones)

I have an ally my mother replaced this weekend that I am going to start tinkering with(also got an old omnia i been thinking about messin with for the hell of it...lol )

a rom that ripped out all the un-needed crap and made the ally into at least a good audio player would be very welcome... ( i know at least 6 other people who have ally's in drawers that would love it if it was possible to use it as a media player/steaming media player)

a suggestion would be to support
subsonic an easy to setup and use streaming server/client you can setup to stream your own music from your home, both online and on your lan.

I know this threads probably a bit out dated(but not a true necro thread..)

I was considering grabbing an x500 for 30bucks....but if it was possible to do the same kinda thing with the ally(media player use only) that would be great
