Blows because it always plays a noise when you put it on the charger and it isn't easy to make it not show me what time it is if I put my hand near it in the night.
You can charge it usb when off. Wonder why not wirelessly other than the disinclination of phones and their makers to ever have them be off. Kind of like the Trucks in the Steven King story. Awk.
If you turn the phone to silent it will not make a noise when you put it on the charger.
My only guess is that the part of the phone that manages wireless charging (and stops the charger when it is fully charged) is an android service, so the phone has to be running. They must have a bootloader service that can manage regular wired charging.
