Help Problem with memory on Crypto Q8000

Hello everyone! Today I bought a Crypto Q8000, 1.3GHz quad core, 8GB available space and 1GB RAM, running Android 4.4.
I turned it on, plugged it into my computer, only to find out I had a measly 1.33GB available in "USB storage".
I really can't figure out why.
I checked the storage status page, in settings, where it states:
Internal Storage
Total Space: 4.24GB

USB Storage
Total Space: 1.33GB

I understand that the Android OS partitions the physical memory to reserve space for system operations.
But, assuming that 4.24GB are that system space, and 1.33GB are left for the user to store files in, it only adds up to 5.57GB of space.
Where does the rest go? Why can I not access it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like it's got partitioned internal user storage, one partition for apps, other for user data. That's in addition to the reserved space system partition, which is hidden unless rooted. Partitioning apps and data separately is a relic from much older Android versions, but for some reason certain Chinese manufacturers still do it.

Install Storage Truth, that will give you a clear idea of what going on here, and report back if you need to.

Thank you very much, I figured out, after installing some apps, that those 4gigs of "internal" storage, were in fact app-reserved.

I'll check that app out, thanks for that too. Have a good day! :D
