Root progressively getting worse lag

This phone has become so laggy that its almost unbearable to use. It is rooted using the OC DTM Kernel with Nova homescreen. Going to homescreen from a game, sometimes it will take 30sec-40sec to load. Opening the drawer, can take the same time for the icons to load. Most apps are also slow and some movies are showing lag too. Here are some of the things Ive tried to help.

- Tried using different settings on antutu master pro (profiles, cpu spd, etc)- no change
- Turned off gps- no change
- Turned off wifi- no change
- Turned off "let apps use wifi/network data"- no change
- When I check ram, it seem to be in the 140-160+ free
- Removed certain games/apps to free up space (using 16gb microsd)- no change
- Running no widgets and single page home screen- no change

Im not that advance as most of you guys, so I could use some pointers. Im almost to the point where I cant stand looking at the phone anymore. Factory reset time?

My phone also slows down too much sometimes. I never noticed this before I rooted, but I am unsure of the cause. A reboot seems to help me. Did you happen to update Superuser.apk through Google Play? I think it started slowing down around the time I updated.

edit: rooted with stock kernel

edit2: just uninstalled the Superuser.apk update and rebooted. Seems fast so far...will keep you updated

You can uninstall the Superuser.apk update in the Play Store if you updated it before. If you did not update it through Play store in the first place then this is not what is causing your problems and you won't be able to uninstall it.

My phone lag is still gone after uninstalling it, however it should be noted that I have not used the phone much since I uninstalled The Superuser update. I will post back if the lag returns.
