Google Play Services, which power all the Google services from any Play whatever app to Gmail, YouTube, and Maps have dropped Froyo support starting with version 4.0. Those of you still holding down the fort on Froyo should upgrade to Gingerbread in the form of MTDEV CM7. Although MTDEV has moved on to other phones, you could say we succeeded at extending the shelf life of this humble little phone. I think mine still boots LOL. So if you want the latest of Google and cannot afford a Nexus, upgrade to GB. I know it's archaic and you're better off getting a new phone (even a hand me down is better now) you guys can still squeeze some new app upgrades out of this probably for another six months to a year. No that doesn't mean everything will stop working immediately on Froyo, but I'd upgrade by now if I could and I were one of you. Froyo has about one or two percent market share. Lots of new apps require ICS or Jelly Bean, but hey, long as it works if you cannot upgrade keep chugging along! Get your money's worth!
