Root [q] s-off reroot

Last August I rooted my DHD using AAHK. No problems for a complete beginner. Had things running sweet. 4ext. tried a number of different roms. flashed radios and RILs; again, no probs. but then for some reason I returned to stock using RUU_Ace_H3G_UK_1.37.771.3_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26. 03.02.26_M_release_158897_signed.exe - still running this now.

I have S-OFF and now want to REROOT!

Is there a guide to Rerooting that I can follow or can someone give me the basic steps as I don't want to mess things up, it was a while ago since I first rooted the DHD.

1more thing... my DHD was locked to 3-UK before root. Now, I can only use Virgin, Orange, GiffGaff, T-mobile, Tesco, but not 3. this bugs! Anyone got any ideas as to why this is?

Failing that... Rerooting Toot using AAHK (if poss.) would be great cos I have a laptop dedicated/configured for AAHK already.

any HELP will be appreciated - TANX!

It looks like there is some pretty sound advice over there. What is in your PD98IMG.zip?

It needs 4ext recovery for your device and a specific android-info.txt file inside. That is the simplest way to put the recovery on your phone if s-off.

The reason you aren't being able to fastboot flash the recovery is because the bootloader needs to be unlocked to use fastboot commands, or else a patched hboot needs to be used.

Follow the link to 4ext download in this post: http://androidforums.com/desire-hd-all-things-root/716369-unroot-desire-hd-file-ruu.html#post5795912

Rename the file to PD98IMG.zip and place on the root of your sd card. Reboot into bootloader and say yes when it asks. That should install 4ext.
Then reboot into your recovery and flash superSU or rom of choice!
