Try running it 2-3 times in a row without exiting the app. I've seen as high as 2200.

Here's mine from a lil while ago. No tweaks involved.
The OP of the thread moved on and got a G2X and posted bragging so I grabbed quadrant and this is what I got.

I found that thread quite amusing, reminded me of all the days i felt like throwing my optimus against the wall with such a crapy quadrant score. You know they were gelous of the esteems score.

I cant wait to see it after we are overclocked.

turned off all animations and running applications. ran quadrant 3 times..

Quadrant is obsolete. If you want to see how the Esteem really ranks these days, you have to use Antutu

I actually use Antutu and perfer Antutu over quadrant. I just used it for this post. Quadrant scores are easy manipulated and will give false crazy scores with edit to the build prop.

My Antutu score is 3300+. Should make a post for Antutu scores

and with more bloatware gone the scores will be better.

You've got to realize though - that was a 1st generation snapdragon - ours is 2nd generation... Lots of speed benefits in the 2nd generation!
