Root Question - 2.3.4 or 4.0 on the Triumph

As my title states, is there any way to get a working version of Gingerbread or Ice Cream sandwich on the Triumph at the moment? What has to happen for us to get this?

:/ sorry I meant 2.4 or 4.0
Also would there be any clean version of 2.4 or 4.0 that I could put on my phone? Or a completed rom...

We have two different 2.3.5 ROM's already.

+1

also if your looking for completely stock gingerbread, thats basically what the cm7 rom is, except with a little more behind the scenes tweaking. If you want it to look completely stock, just get it and dont theme it. No reason you wouldnt want the extra little things it comes with too even if you dont want to go to deep in.

As for 4.0, I will just go with the devs are saying, wait for cm9
Im guessing it might be easier to port? (thats a question and a statement, for someone)
and it will just be generally more epic than stock
You will have to wait though. 4.0 JUST came out, and our phone doesnt have the biggest base of developers behind it, although the ones we do have are amazing

Yeah I mean we may see an official gingerbread update from Virgin Mobile, but most likely we will have to wait for dev's to port over cm and miui builds in order to get off of froyo. I for one am not a fan of CM(nothing against the makers of it or the porters of it, and our devs working hard on it) I just don't like it. But that's about the only way to get off of 2.2.2 right now. I am hoping though that Virgin Mobile will release an official gingerbread update evenutally!

Just wondering..

What do you not like about CM7, but you want from Gingerbread?

He doesn't like AOSP roms. He wants roms where everything just works already and then he tweaks them. Or at least that's what I gathered from speaking with him about it recently.

Yeah its just personal preference. Lust all anyone cares about is cm or miui when it comes out and I like taking Motorola and vm's mess ups and make it better. Cm and miui are both fantastic creations I just prefer stock roms!

With a vm issued gingerbread update you would get the updated kernel(cm uses a modified 2.6.32.9 froyo kernel) and gingerbread uses a newer kernel. And plus everything would work as intended by Motorola and vm aside from maybe GPS because Motorola seemed to mess that up pretty good!
