Root Questions!

so i dont have the volt yet but its coming in the mail! and want to be ready when it arrives. So could i please get an overview of the best way to root, and the (most stable?) roms for it? Ps im not the most tech savvy but i know enough i can do it, thanks!

All relevant info is right here on this LG root forum. There is a one click root method stickied, and the 4 roms that are here are cm12, cm11, candy, and debloated zv5.

Well, first of all, the Volt is an excellent phone, could be better, but nonetheless an excellent choice. To start off, I'd update your phone to the latest system update when you get it, and then you can root with King Root, or the LG One Click Root Method. Also, the Volt has some RAM/Memory options, I've found that the stock ROM with the custom kernel in this forum works best (for me), but the CM12.1 works pretty much flawless except for no video recording functionality yet.

I would advise not using Kingroot. It seems to have some behavior that is suspicious. It also doesn't seem to truly root your phone as you have to keep the app installed to retain root. There is a guide stickied in this forum containing all known and trusted methods of rooting.
