Help Randomly losing service on Samsung Galaxy S 4G

Hi all,

I recently bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy S 4G (Fascinate) with which I am very satisfied, except for one major issue. Every couple of days, the phone's network connection just dies, in a seemingly random fashion. I don't receive texts, calls or emails, nor can I send them.

I have read about similar issues with other phones that intermittently drop from 4G coverage for a few minutes and then wake up, but I don't think this is the same. This effect is permanent; the phone doesn't restore coverage until I notice the problem and reboot the phone. The worst part is that I have no idea when it happens...I've gone several hours without realizing that people have been trying to contact me, and now I'm always paranoid.

Has anyone else heard of or experienced this? I've searched endlessly for a similar thread but have found nothing. It's driving me nuts.

Thanks

Mine will sometimes hit one bar, but have never missed a call or text. Plus I can wifi call.
GSM/TMO. I don't even see the 4G icon if the wifi icon is on. So at home I could be on Edge for all I know. I don't have to reboot. The phone only downloads over wifi per setting.

I have had the same issue with my SGS 4G and just recently discovered on accident that if Wifi is off, as well as bluetooth, I get great reception and quality. I have been check the phone all day, enable/disable wifi in various places (starbucks, library, t-mo store) same results. When wifi is enabled, boom the signal drops and call quality, if I can make a call is horrific.
