RIP Joan Rivers, 81

:(

Yeah, I heard this earlier today. She was quite the dynamo and kept it going up to the end.

I liked this woman all the way up until her words on the Israel/Palestine situation. Saying those innocent people deserve to Die. She said that just last week. I would never wish death upon anyone...

The last two posts portray the puzzle that was Joan Rivers: was she a comedian or a conservative commentator? Looks aside, she reminds me of Jackie Mason.

May Joan Rivers another comedy legend soul never be forgotten as we show our tears and say you will never be forgotten in our hearts from the smiles and laughing as she would want the world and family to stay strong as we move on .... R.I.P Joan Rivers .

Was listening to a special edition of Fresh Air on NPR today and they were replaying portions of past interviews. She had some spunk!

Indeed she did! Seeing clips of her standup comedy over the last few days reminded me of just how funny--and biting--she could be. And I really love that even in her 80s she was still going strong, not even thinking about retiring, just doing what she loved and knew best.

I think why her comedy was so timeless as she wasn't above being a target of her own jokes. I remember seeing her on an interview somewhere saying she was stretched so tight she was putting earrings in her ass. Between her and Robin Williams, Heaven just got a lot more entertaining.

Just a gentle reminder to keep discussion here non-political. If you'd like to discuss Rivers' politics and/or her recent remarks on Israel/Palestine, please start a new thread in our Politics and Current Affairs subforum.

Thanks.
