Roaming?

When at work on my breaks I lose my 3g/data connection which isn't really a problem but when the connection comes back it says (R) for roaming I'm guessing but I ha e both the settings turned off as they say it costs.

So is it ok to leave it with R or is it costing me money (I apparently went over £5 last month when I still had many minutes texts and data)

Then it's probably roaming onto T-Mobile due to their signal share thingie.
