Help Root Question

So I wanted to hear it from actual xperia x10 owners. Should I root my phone or not? Why r why not? And if so, what is the easiest way to do it? I don't want to hurt my phone or fill it full of bugs. I just want to boost performance. Please help before I do anything I'll regret. Thanks in advance.

And I'm knew to the forum here, so I was curious if could advise me on the best things to do to my phone, as well as the best apps. I've had my phone for a few months now, and I've tried out some battery boosting apps and task killers and such that were recommend for android phones, but I wanted to know what the best combination of apps were, as well as the best things to do to my phone. Thanks guys!

First you root the phone and flash it

xda-developers - View Single Post - [FLASHTOOL GUIDE] HOW TO for n00bies

Then you install xRecovery (kind of like a boot loader....lets you do backups and restore backups included special downloaded one's that have been streamlined to work with the x10)

[RECOVERY] xRecovery 0.3-release | UNIFIED - ALL X10 VARIANTS | 31/01/2010 - xda-developers

Then you can install whatever custom ROM you want...it is like a set of apps and themes all in one.

I currently can rotate between three....all I have to do is restart my phone and when it starts up I can chose which one I want by either leaving the current one or restoring another one someone else has created for me.

Is one of your choices the option to go back to it's original form?

Yup.

What I did was I eventually got bored and upset at the speed of my phone.

I then read up on this forum...I flashed....then I installed xRecovery to allow me to do a backup and restore other premade roms.

I did a backup of my cell phone provider default setup. So I have a Rogers backup...then I copied over a ROM....restored that ROM....if ever I want, I can go back to the original slow setup and unflash my phone.
