Root Rooting and overclocking?

Already I am thinking about overclocking :-D Has anyone ever overclocked a qualcomm 7200a over 528 mhz. Is there a way to root the g2 touch (i have found one supposed method for the orange version... 'http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=538036' reluctant to try without the G2 img. (there may be no difference)) ...
