Root Rooting HTC Evo Design 4g boost mobile

So I have read threads and I have software downloaded but I seem to run in to the problem of no boot.img file. I hate to say I am new to this and it should be easy but for some reason I am having a hard time finding the right flash program so that I can continue with the rooting process. I am using HTC quick root if that helps any. I am using htc evo 4g design by boost mobile 4.0.3, sense version 3.6, software 1.14.653.0, kernal 3.0.16. boot is unlocked so it seems just the flashing process is what I am having to deal with. Thank you.
