Root rooting samsung indulge with gingerbread

I have been trying to root my cricket samsung galaxy indulge sch-r915 with gingerbread 2.3.6. I have used almost every method I can find bt nothing seems to work. All I'm asking for is a root method that will work.. I honestly don't even think I'm askin in the right place but NOWHERe does anyone explain how to do it or even act like the indulge has gingerbread... PLEASE IF SOMEONE COMES ACROSS THIS HELP ME OUT!! The forums for this phone are like a ghost town.
 
you can try idling in irc. look for a post of K0nane and use the link in his signature. Ask your question and stay connected, someone should get back to ya. Also, I believe k0nane still requires a dump of the upgrade so that he can finally work on getting root for GB. Provide him with that and him and some others will do their best to get it for you. He isn't a miracle worker and cant create something out of nothing. Give him what he needs, relax, be patient and revel in the glory when ya get root.
 
Thanks for the response, I honestly apreciate it. I'm glad to see I'm not the only person trippin over not being able to root this dang thing.. us indulge users deserve a root just like all the other phones. Jus because our model isn't the most popular doesn't mean we don't deserve the same android experience.. but with all that aside, I've been praying for a root to come out. If there is anything I can do to help out with creating one I will. Jus please don't give up on us!!!
 
I found a tar online with 2.3.5 gingerbread I used odin to install it and superoneclick root and I'm rooted and its great no problems what so ever!! Froze all my bloatware and my phone whorks like a charm
 
Could you forward said tar for testing purposes?
I'm sure a few folks here would like to check it out...
 
So does anyone know if there's still people out there working to solve a solution? I know this model has probably been long given up on.. but this phone can be soo much better. But oh well whether or not a root gets developed I will jus keep dreaming of a day with root an cm7. Lol.
 
I'd like to work with the R915, but I don't have one. Thus, I can't do much with it. I can test kernels if there's a user in IRC willing to hang around for a while.
 
Well there apparently still hasn't been any root for us indulge users.. I doubt we are ever going to get root. But if there is any way I can help in the process jus let me know. I'm dying for root!!!

Oh, there's roots, and Konane has a great rom for the r910 already..

I had given up on ever getting one.. but he came through like a champ on the r910 metro phone.. I wish I had the money to donate a r915 for developing on, but I plan on putting a little something in his christmas stocking in the next couple of weeks.
 
Nah there still isnt any root for r915 with gingerbread. I have used all root methods and have had no success. The phone is practically ancient an clearly devs don't give a crap bout this phone no more haha I'm giving up on root.

I'm just glad to actually see a phone the devs couldn't crack haha lil indulge gingerbread stomped the android community. Now I'm off too smash this phone
