S pen problem and pic txt showing up as videos?

Hi im new to android in general. Just picked up the note last week and having some annoying issues.

Is there a way to calibrate the S pen? Every time im about to write/draw with the pen, the screen already picks up the pen without it even touching the screen. I cant draw straight lines without it looking sloppy. The pen seems to go all over the place.

When my friends send me pictures over text. I receive them as 10 second video clips. Is there a solution to this?

Use Handcent as your messaging app. It's in the market. It opens Pic messages as pics and not vids.
