:DSo I already have the #1 and #2 preorder at my BB. I was at Sam's Club today getting some protien shakes and Cliff bars, when I noticed a preorder sign for the EVO. I asked the rep if they have any special deals, she said $199 and no activation. Not bad I thought, but I told her I was already #1 and 2 at my BB and didnt want to risk not having an Evo on the 4th. She said I was only going to be # 8 and 9 on list and they are taking pre orders till the 31st. She then offered me a $40 per line credit on my first bill for porting our current phone #s from Tmobile (she said all Sam's clubs offer this. Sounds pretty good I was thinking. I then told her where my wife works and she confirmed %20 off. So I told her I will think about it... and out of no where she offered me 25% off my bill total. Thats when I said DEAL!! She ran my credit and said I can have 5 lines, and even showed me the %25 discount on my account. Called BB and they said I can return the gift cards for a full refund... So if you want a better deal try Sam's Club

Retailers can "pull strings" and hook people up with discounts. AT&T rep did it for me, T-Mobile rep did it for me, and a Sprint rep even offered me a 27% discount if I signed up 5 lines with him (he was gonna report that I worked with some corporation that receives that discount)...

But awesome deal on the EVO. I didn't know that they can give you credit for porting over numbers. and $199 with no activation means waived activation charges right? Because any carrier should waive the activation if you ask. Either way, good deal.

I'm always confused about this, is Sams Club part of Walmart or part of Costco.
Either way its a good deal. Wonder what they do for returns, insurance, broken or lost devices.

TS

As a former Costco employee i can tell you Sam's Club and Costco are not friends. Sam's Club is part of wal-mart.

A friend of mine that still works for Costco as a manager told me a story of how he was in a Sam's Club with a couple friends and at the register pulled out his costco employee card by mistake and they like freaked out cause they thought he was spying on them or something.

Anyway, i'm not sure what they do at Sam's Club for service, at Costco i'm pretty sure they did everything but only had like maybe 7-10 phones on display. I never really paid much attention to it as i stocked in the morning at 4 a.m. so they were never really around when i was.

The Sam's in my area is offering a $50 Sam's gift card to pre-order from them. No activation cost just upgrade fee, which I can probably call Sprint and get it taken off. She is taking pre-orders till the 31st. She made it quite clear to me how this works,so I'm pre-ordering thru Sam's.

Just got back from another sam's to verify what was told to me and let me just say this"NEW GIRL". It's a $50 gift card for RS and that is put toward the phone nothing else. I'm so not happy know, sorry guys no Great Deal here.

I put a $50 depo down at my local Sams Club and get a $40 service credit for switching to Sprint, will show up 30-90 days after service starts.

I have a pre w/RS, but i will try to cancel...

so in the end, i am getting an extra $20 from sams ($40 credit vs. $20 acc credit from RS)

accessories from any store are more expensive then ebay or online, so i would much prefer the service credit...

....and i was the first one to pre at my Sams Club, pick up june 4th 830am.

he also had the dummy model there..........AWESOME.

I pre ordered mine from RS. Had I known Sams Club was going to take pre orders, I would went with them. I have a business card with them. That means I get to shop there one hour earlier then the general public. So if any of you have a business card with Sams you might want to think about going there.

I just got a 27% off plan preordering at SAMS' Club and I belong to nothing that is eligible (other than the "anyone can get it if they look hard enough" 15% off through the "friends and family" employee program). Being a new Sprint customer helps because signing you up is an incentive to the SAM's (RS) dealer since he gets a much larger spiff for a new account as opposed to an extra line or upgrade. I must say however the dealer is putting him or her self at risk by doing it but from what I understand it's done even by the Corp Sprint Stores. I watched him add it to the account in the Sprint system. I wasn't going to preorder but the 27% and no waiting for the rebate made it worth it. I would have just settled for the 19% F&F plan (but I think you have to do that online). I will not post the Sams I did this at but with a little "negotiating" I'm sure anyone can. Especially if you are already getting a discount on another carrier.

The "extra" $40 invoice credit they give you is to offset the $36 activation fee which you WILL be charged.
