Help Samsung Galaxy 4G 2 days old already dropping calls and blacking out screen.

Hello everyone! I recently switch from Sprint to T-Mobile. I ended up getting the Samsung Galaxy 4G and needless to say I am NOT happy. I have had the phone for 2 days and have already had problems. When I try to make a phone call the screen blanks out on me and won't turn back on until after the other person hangs up, if it even lasts long enough for a conversation without disconnecting me. Whenever I try to turn the screen back on with the power button afterwards it won't work and I have to end up taking the battery out of the phone to even get it working again. I have already tried a factory reset, keep screen app, different SIM cards, and also changed the accessibility settings for the power button ending a call. The other problem I seem to be having is whenever I try to put the call on speaker phone as soon as I make a call before the screen blacks out on me it automatically disconnects me. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Do you have some sort of protective case on the phone? If so, I cut a bigger whole in the gel case around the upper left corner (where the sensor is) and now I just tilt my phone and the screen comes back on.

Try turning off wifi. See my comment in another thread where I got little or no service where I lived and accidently turned off wifi + bt and now have 4 bars and 4G signal. Quality has been great and have not dropped another call since. I do not use wifi any more.
