The problem: My phone won't turn on. It gets stuck switching between the O2 screen and the fuzzy/clear Samsung logo.
The other problem: I know very little about phones. Trying to fix this via suggestions from google and not getting very far.
Things I've tried so far:
-Taking the battery out (doesn't do anything)
-Starting the phone without sim card/SD card (no difference)
-Connecting phone to laptop (won't connect - Kies says no sim card, although sim card is in place)
-Power + Volume up held = phone goes into O2/Samsung loop.
-Power + Volume down held = same loop
-Power + home button (? the one at the bottom) = same loop.
-Power + home button + Volume up = Android system recovery
--Reboot system now - starts phone again, same loop.
--Wipe data/ factory reset doesn't solve the problem, starts in same loop.
--Apply update from SD card - can't find a "package" to install (no idea if I can download that, put it on an SD card and try to reset the phone that way?)
--Wipe cache partition - no difference
