Root SBF update issue of a different flavor...

Hi all,

I've been runing on the original Froyo leak, 2.3.9, since it was available. I've been happy with it, but decided to get the phone to the current release and be able to get OTA's if/when available. I found the SBF files I needed here: http://androidforums.com/droid-x-all-things-root/275743-help-sbf-failed.html, and loaded thegift2 first then the full 2.3.34 listing in the thread.

Both installs went fine with no bricking or looping, BUT here's the issue. If I boot into bootloader mode, it still show that I am running 30.01, and not 30.04.

Did I miss something? Do I need to do a system reset? Any ideas on what's going on?

TIA

use this file and then just reroot and install. Bootstrap
maderstcok - OTA 2.3.340 update.zip - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum
this will get your system bootloader kernal and everything up to date ....this acts just like an sbf and you flashed an sbf leak then a system only sbf and what you would have to do now is use seperate files to update bootloader kernal etc but since this file you don't have to and next time you need to sbf there is a full sbf that will also do all this for you found here .....use the mirror link
Full 2.3.340 Official sbf

Thanks guys. I was under the impression that the 2 step SBF method would get me to the current bootloader.

So to recap, I need to root , load Koush's bootstrapper and make backup , then run maderstcok?

Thanks again!

Do you have anything worth backing up?

I would think....

Get the zip file on your sdcard, (root and install recovery, if needed), flash it from recovery, then backup.

If you still have personal data install, you might want to create a Titanium Backup first (apps + data).

Just tried the Maderscok SBF(?) and it works as claimed. Device went back to entirely stock, including un-rooting.
There was not even a hic-cup in the install, smooth and painless.
Re-rooted, reinstalled bootstrap and ROM'd it with Darkslide again. No issues to report so far.
