Help Screen mirroring & output to TV for Samsung galaxy tab A 8.0 w S Pen

Don't trust anyone saying that they have universal Samsung MHL adapters - they don't exist, there's been 3 different generations. And not all Samsung tablets have had MHL out.

Unfortunately there is no option for the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 to support HDMI output at all.

If anyone promises that they have the right wired setup, they don't, save your money.

The Allshare Cast Dongle may be supported.

Cheers under your main settings, usually under Display, for a screen mirroring or casting button.

If yours has it, the Allshare Cast Dongle will work (so will an Amazon Fire TV Stick and you'll get more bang for your buck).

If yours doesn't have that, then your only remaining option is a Chromecast. And disregard the first ad saying that their Dongle is better than Chromecast.

I found screen mirroring accidentally after making myself nuts while looking for it. If you slide your finger downward from the top of the screen, there's a drop-down menu with a row of symbols at the top. Slide all the way to the right and screen mirroring is second from the right...at least it was there on my tab A!

Good luck making it work. If you get it to work please post here. I have a Sony bsd3500 blu-ray player that supports screen mirroring and it works with my LG phone but not my tab a. The tab a never successfully mirrors to any device. :(

If you have a home Wi-Fi network. The easy way to cast to your TV or any other device on the network including Xbox, is to pull down the notification tab and use Quick Connect it will find all compatible devices on your network I can cast to my LG 3D TV and my Xbox and all other devices on the home Wi-Fi network. Hope this helps. By the way it will only cast pictures and videos on your device not the actual screen.
P.S. Happy Father's Day to all you guys out there.

I got it work with a Roku 3. Slide down from the top of the screen and then slide the row of settings icons all the way to the left. Touch the Smart View icon. Connection will take place. Have screen mirroring turned on in Settings/System/Screen mirroring on the Roku. I have my Roku cable connected to my wireless router and my Tab A wifi connected to my router.
