Accessories Screen Question

Okay, this may be a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyway.

When I got my Incredible, I bought a pack of screen protectors. The salesman offered to install the screen protector for me and had trouble with the first but decent success with the second. The corners on the verizon protector started to peel up after a couple weeks and then got caught on my pocket and peeled half off. This put a lot of lint under it.

I was just waiting for the Steinheil protectors to get back into stock and I ordered a couple of the crystal clears. They came in the other day, so I pulled my screen protector off to install the Steinheil. I noticed that the face of phone and screen are not all one piece...there is a raised screen face? I thought it was all one piece of flat glass. Or is there still a protector on the screen? Was there something on it from the factory that the salesman didn't remove? Did he put two screen protectors on? Or is this how the screen is?

I looked at some pics of people's broken screens and it looks like the whole screen is one flat piece of glass...but mine has a raised area where the touch screen is (but not where the menu buttons are below). I wouldn't think anything of it, but the corner of the area seems to be peeled up just a bit. Before I put the new protector on, I need to know if something is on there that should be removed...or if my screen was damaged by the protector in the corner. I never saw what the stock screen looks like on this thing. Is there really a raised edge around it?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

If you have a problem with the phone and need to ask a question, don't be afraid that it's a stupid one. I'm sure someone out there will read this and realize that it's the same problem they've been having! Anyway, I think the VZW tech at the store may have put two protectors on it. What you are saying about the corners peeling up doesn't sound right. Even though I returned my Incredible about a week ago (bluetooth problems), I can distinctly remember that the screen face was one piece of glass. Take it to the store (tech support) and have one of them handle it. That's what their paid to do. If you try to fix it and somehow mess it up, the warranty is void. Let us know how it turns out.

Most screen protectors have three parts...the middle actual screen protector, a top sheet to be removed while installing, and a bottom sheet to be removed while installing. It sounds like he left one of the extra sheets on....which is probably why it became messed up, curled up and needed to be removed...The entire screen is absolutely one flat piece of glass and is not raised above the menu button. I dont have the Verizon screen protector but have heard that it does not cover the entire screen...but ends right above the menu button.
The guy just didnt know what he was doing when he installed it!
Good luck with the new one...make sure to take the remaining one off first!
