Help SD card apps not seen

I recently had to factory reset my rooted Galaxy Ace. After the reset, my phone is still rooted but cannot see the apps on the sd card. I inserted the sd card into my pc and all the apps were still there.

I copied the sd card contents to a file on my pc then reformatted the card in my phone, then created a 2nd partition on the card using Minitool Partition Wizard 8.1.1.

The main partition is FAT32 & Primary. The 2nd partition is Ext2 & Primary.

My phone still cannot see the sd card apps, nor can Link2sd, Nor Link2sd Plus.
I've unmounted & re-mounted the sd card umpteen times and tried all the Link2sd stuff like re-linking applications etc. but to no avail.

Have I missed something or done things in the wrong order, and how do I make the apps visible again?

Moving an app to the SD card puts a link from internal storage to the new location of the app. A factory reset wipes out that link. Install the apps in internal memory and move them to the SD card again.
