seeing photos on computer help

i plug my razr maxx hd into my computer via usb cable. I want to view photos that are on my phone sd card on my computer screen and possibly copy them onto computer. The computer recognizes the phone and pulls up most of the pics but not all. Also out of the ones it does show some of them the thumbnail preview pic is not showing.(meaning i have to open it to know what it is.) Any ideas?

Random thoughts:

Are you using PTP mode for your USB connection? Might make a difference.

Can you see shots that are stored on your SD card as well as internal phone memory?

Try connecting via AirDroid for better accessibility to your phone memory and SD card.

Do you have more than one camera app on your phone? If so they could be storing the images in different folders with different attributes.

i only have one camera app.
does the same thing in ptp mode or the other.
its the same for internal storage and sd storage. Not all photos even show as existing. Some show the thumbnail pic and the rest just show a generic quicktime pic for the thumbnail. but they still open and show the pic.

Try accessing storage through a different method. Try the AirDroid app and see if you can "see" the photos. Also have a download tool.

i can see all the photos on my phone no problem, its just the computer side thats the issue. so an app on my phone wont help.

Actually an app on the phone that has a PC interface could help. Check out AirDroid and similar apps. It connects phone to PC wirelessly and will load an interface on your PC that resembles Windows Explorer in functionality. You should be able to see and transfer files by using the PC client. All free.

tried air droid computer wont connect. Do i have to have a wireless card in computer?
When i look at air droid on my phone it doesnt even show the photos on my sd card. everything it shows is on the internal storage.
