Selling my phone- what should I do?

Hello everyone,

I'm going to upgrade to an S3 soon and was planning on selling my old Captivate. It is rooted and has ICS (CM9) on it. I was wondering if a factory reset would be enough to erase all of my data on it while keeping the root and the firmware. Also, with Titanium Backup on my phone, are there any extra things I should delete from the internal memory? Thanks!

A factory reset should be fine. If you wanted to be extra careful, you could reflash the ROM, but that's not mandatory. If you're selling with the SD card, you'd probably need to wipe that too.

Thanks for the tip! It doesn't have an external SD that I bought separately, it's only the Captivate's internal SD, so I'll be sure to wipe that as well.

I listed it on Kijiji for $180 on a Friday and had 6 emails/texts by Sunday. They all wanted me to drive to the next city over (40 min drive) and pay me $150. I said the first person at my door with $150 cash can have it.

One guy was there 45 minutes later. When I offered him the cases and earphones and box ect... he said he didn't want them, he just wanted to replace his cracked cappy that was still under contract. My phone was unlocked, he popped in his SIM and gave me $150.

Yes, but the One-X lists for $899.00 off contract. Any Captivate now would be off contract and is still a viable phone for many people. $100 ~ $150 is reasonable.

Seeing as we are always behind, there are still people who are still in a contract. I bought mine off contract and still had 15 months left of a 3 year contract with a freaking LG Dare LOL.

He just didn't want to pay it out and wasn't really interested in a new phone... A lot of the other people texting wanted smartphones for their kids without a contract.
