Help Sensor(s)? Hisense Sero 7 Pro

Good evening Forum,

Liking my HS7Pro more and more, with minor exceptions like no self reliant calendar or email (that I really like [I don't use Gmail]).

I miss too, the ability to turn off the screen when the case lid is closed (similar to the Kindle fire I purchased my wife last year).

I found an app in the market that was supposed to work but didn't. The app reported that (when I installed it on my HS7P) that a proximity sensor wasn't found, but a light sensor was (still didn't work).

Never the less, can anyone confirm that the HS7P "does not" have a proximity sensor that would interact with "a closed lid"? I'm beginning to think maybe that type sensor is something just for cell phones? (IOW, to turn off the screen when held close to your head/face such as does many Samsung phones)

The owner's manual shows a sensor just below and to the right of the face cam but doesn't indicate what/which type sensor it is.

Also, anyone know of an app that works on the HS7P that turns off the screen when the case lid is closed?

The Elixr app reports there is a light sensor. Also reports there is no ambient temperature, no pressure, no proximity, and no relative humidity sensor.

Well, I looked into this "Elixr" installed it and indeed, appears the little bobble in question is in fact a light sensor.

Neat app this Elixr, reports all kinds of sensors!

Crap, there's no "Wife Proximity Sensor" or "Beer Availability Sensor"

You could get two external bluetooth proximity sensors and hook one onto your wife and one onto your beer. I ran across a youtube video called "Scosche foundIT Bluetooth Proximity Sensor" that mentions them.
I spelt Elixir wrong.
