SGP 4.2 screen brightness setting gets changed

I purposely set the brightness on the lower side - to make the battery last longer. [it only goes about 12 hours depending on if I use the thing a few times during the day] Occasionally, I find the setting changed, when I did not intentionally change it. I finnaly found it happens if I move my finger across the top edge of the screen. It's like some secret brightness control. Is there a way to disable this "feature"?

That is normal. No way to disable it that i know of.
