Ok guys first off I have to start out by saying that this is NOT my phone, so I will try to provide as much information as I can, but the info that was given to me by the owner was next to non-existent.
I have a 4G here that boots only to the Galaxy S - T-Mobile Screen. From listening to the guy talk about factory resets and recovery menu's and such, my first thought was bad rom flash. I asked him if he had tried to root the phone and I was told no. I booted into the recovery menu to find that it was infact stock, but from some of the comments he'd made I was still a little suspicious.
The first thing I decided to do when I got it home was some of the obvious get drivers, check for connectivity, adb recognition...all was good. Decided to go ahead and back-up the SD card before I did anything, and SHOCKER! There sat a clockworkmod file. I believe the i769 is the blaze correct? Well that was the recovery file there.
So at this point I began looking for all the stock firmware files, one click unbricks, different recoveries, various other unbricks methods listed...blah blah.
At this point If I use a voodoo recovery, it appears to successfully convert to ext 4. When I undo it it appears to go smooth. The recovery will come up with all the unable to find E:/ect, etc errors that have been previously posted on the forum, as well as csc errors, unable to mount data errors. If I reboot the recovery, the errors go away, and it flashes a rom. When i reboot the phone, I am right back to the galaxy s screen. The various E:/ errors Im guessing aren't really the issue here. I'm leaning more toward the csc and data errors, but as i said I am pretty confident I have tried every solution listed on the forum, so unless I'm just seriously missing a step involved with one of the methods, I am really at a loss. This phone over the last three or four days has made me feel like such a noob!
Now with all that being said, thank you for everyone's patience. I'm not new to rooting by any means, and I have never owned a samsung but have had some experience dealing with the Samsung line, as well as more specifically the galaxies, so hopefully I won't have any of you pulling your hair out
I am also attaching a screen shot of my backup containing various files for all the methods I have tried to this point to help shed some light on where I am at.
