signal strength in db in notifications

Is it possible to change the icon for cell tower strength from 0-5 bars to a -db measurement on a non rooted 6P?

I'm getting wonky cell coverage out in the woods, would like to see at a glance what my numbers are.

I've downloaded LTE Discovery but would like to display db permanently in the notifications.

Are you rooted? I am rooted an running Pure Nexus and thought that setting was in there, but I just checked and it is not. You can change the battery to about anything you want, but not the carrier signal strength (unless I am missing something). I figure to accomplish what you are asking you will need to be rooted. That is probably going to be a custom thing.
