Root Signed up for the Freedompop offer with this HTC Evo Design 4G and would like to play with it!

So I would be willing to try rooting it under this system if it has not been done. I know Knolly is looking into it. I don't have the phone yet, but I thought I'd throw it out there to get the developers juices flowing. I don't know how much anyone has tried with these freedom pop guys, but for the 10.99 I will pay, heck , I guess I can play with it for at least those 30 days. In the end I will probably use it to tether it to my cube U30gt2 for the wifi signal if possible.

So come on folks lets get juices flowing and hopefully put some life into this old phone! Let me know!:smokingsomb:

Also if anyone is interested in signing up let me know and I can do a referral and we can both get an extra amount of data time to use!

I'll be surprised if anyone helps you out with this phone. Looks like FreedomPop picked up someone's leftover stock from when the phone was discontinued last year. I was highly pissed, as the phone barely lasted a whole year. Right now the only people who still have it are mainly those who are on contracts about to expire and going for the S4/i5S as soon as possible.

Well it seems that the phone come rooted out of the box according to another forum post elsewhere here! So I am willing to play with it. I havent received mine yet but others seem to be chiming in elsewere. maybe new life can be breathed into it. Its a good phone at a good price and the offer can't be beat. I'll hold on to it and freedompop for now.

Hi, I would like to contribute information if any one is having trouble.

Using talkatone and disabling sip and other things to have minutes or phone numbers recorded on the freedompop user section on website. Only using the 3G for talkatone which is still usable.

Also got intact with another member who rooted to 4.1.1 but wimax was disabled and us cellular was branded somewhere.

Help us users by tweeting to HTCUSA, Freedompophelp, and Boostcare (as they still support the device not sprint). Please help get support for Kitkat 4.4 through freedompop so battery last long as iPhone 5 (they have similar mah in battery. or near range)

I don't know the first thing about SIP and VoIP and SMSoIP

I do know that on both 3G and WiFi it just plains sucks with FP's software.

Tried GoogleVoice but couldn't get it to work. Not sure what SIP settings on the phone would need to be changed.

A comprehensive How-To article for changing SIP / VoIP providers from FP to something with better quality and reliability would be greatly appreciated.
