Help SketchBook Pro vs SPen version on Samsung App Store?

Quick question for Sketchbook Pro users. I own the SketchBook Pro for tablets. There is a galaxy note version on the Samsung App Store. Is that the same version or does it have additional features for the S Pen? thank you

The Note version of Sketchbook Pro has S Pen specific added functionality. Everything in the options are the same except for the preferences. In the standard version, you just have Pen Mode ON/OFF. In the Note version, you have Automatic/ON/OFF options as well as Pen Mode Intro screen (displays when S Pen is detached) and Enable Pen Menu (by pressing the S Pen button when near the screen).

The Pen Menu gives a choice of Color picker, eraser, share and send to S Note functions. Color Picker is the same as the press and hold function in the standard version. Eraser is self explanatory. Share opens up a menu in which you can share you drawing via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, email, dropbox, etc. Great function as there's no need to save the file, go to a file manager, find the file and then share it. Send to S Note is exactly that, exports your drawing directly to S Note. Unfortunately, this menu is not customizable.

You can also get a preview view of the drawing by hovering the S Pen over it when in gallery view. Not impressive really considering it's not blown up by much.

I also noticed that there is pressure sensitivity on the Note version. I couldn't really see that on the standard version. As to value, that will be up to the user to decide. Unfortunately, it means having to dish out another $5 for this app just to get the S Pen specific functions. I, personally, didn't lose out on this as I only paid $0.25 for the standard version when it was on sale.

But others may not have been as 'lucky'. So value will vary and you cannot get a refund once you buy the app in the Samsung Store.

It was very noticeable for me. When I first tested this, I went back and forth between the standard and Note versions. I thought maybe I was just imagining things, but there was indeed a difference. Even when I finish a heavy stroke and start lifting off the pen, I can see the stroke lightly trail off in the Note version. I never got that effect with the standard version. Even the heavy strokes were more noticeable than the light ones.

The Pen Menu and pressure sensitivity was more than enough to persuade me to uninstall the standard version. But before I uninstalled it, I had to move all my drawings from the standard version folder to the Note version folder. They do not share the same folders to store your drawings.

Also forgot to mention that the Note version says it supports the S Pen with eraser feature (the S Pen that has an eraser on the other side of it). In all honesty, the standard version also supports this, so this is not an added special feature in the Note version.

wow..didn't even realize there was a note 8 version of sketchbook pro

just wasted money buying through play store

Actually, there is a mobile version for the Note 2 as well (which I also have).

Unfortunately, if you paid full price for either versions in the Play Store, it might not be worth it to buy it again. Unless you really want the added functions. Other thing you might try is contact Autodesk and see if they will be nice enough to refund you the Play Store version so you can get the proper Note version. It might be worth a shot.

I only lost out $0.50 for the Play Store (Mobile and Pro) versions. So not a big deal for me to buy them again in Samsung App store. But others... :(

Translation: The note version is the galaxy version, which is 4.99 at the samsung store, while the normal version is just Sketchbook Pro?

I know that the galaxy version comes free on the Galaxy, but I also have a Note 8.
I got Sketchbook express free from samsung apps, and it would like me to upgrade to pro but am thinking it will just give me Sketchbook Pro and not the galaxy version (assuming is the Galaxy version).

I'm looking at a thread on it on xdadevelpers Note 3 applications. Seems the Galaxy version as updated UI making it more PC like. Seems the free version is what I'm currently using https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...hbookhdexpress

Just ordered it and I like the layout better than express.

They changed the name and UI of the Note version. They removed the pen menu and streamlined it into the UI. The only thing I didn't like was the tool bar defaulted to always being visible (had to go into preferences to hide it). I prefer it to be hidden until I hit the circular ring to pull it up. At least they made this an option for the user.
