I'm a dual-phone kind of guy. I carry an iPhone and an Android phone. I get to choose which phones/tablet I want for work (which is a great perk).
The Galaxy Nexus is my 4th Android device.
Here are my impressions overall:
It is a good phone with a great screen. However, it won't replace my need to use the iPhone for work.
I like the screen. It is great. I just wished there were more apps (like a web browser) that would hide the soft buttons.
I would love to have a browser that would show the buttons with the gesture. I sort of feel cheated that I cant utilize the full 720p screen.
Now for my constructive gripes.
1) Lack of Mass Storage and MPT. I dont buy Google's explanation for ditching USB mass storage.
My hacked HP Touchpad has an internal partition that mounts drives as USB mass storage.
Why is this a problem?
My car's stereo can't recognize the GN when I plug it into the USB.
Linux/Ubuntu has issues.

I can't sync music with apps like DoubleTwist that can't use MPT.
Galaxy Nexus not recognized for Mac
My Windows7 computer can't see my Galaxy Nexus device
Basically, I can't use the GN as a music player unless I subscribe to Google's idea of just using the cloud to play music.
Why is this a big deal? Well USB mass storage has always been a big selling point of Android. I use to mount my phones and rsynch my work.
I'll have a project with 400 files with a file size about 800-900 megs. I would only synchronize maybe 10-12 files a day and it would be quick.
Now, I would have to re-copy the entire folder.
So the GN is getting close to iOS in being locked down. I guess there are wifi webdav/samba type sharing apps I can look into. This is how I rsynch with the iPhone.
The fact it doesn't play nice with my car and Linux is the biggest gripe. Even Ubuntu has great iOS device file support due to the iPhone popularity.
2) VPN. ICS promised to fix ongoing VPN issues and it doesn't look like it was fix.
IPSec VPN reboots phone when used on 3G - xda-developers
Issue 23404 - android - Reboot with IPSec Xauth PSK VPN over 3G Network at data traffic - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting
For this very reason, I ***have*** to carry an iPhone always with me. I need to connect to my work and client's networks.
Along the same line, even if VPN was fixed, iOS still has better apps in terms of SSH, VNC/RDP. I've tried many and they don't compare with the ones on iOS. They simply have better apps my kind of work.
3)Battery life. This thing is horrid. I get about 4 hours. Most of the blame can be attributed to the fact I have about 6 IMAP/Exchange accounts polling every minute. With iOS, they're design to be pushed so the phone doesn't have to check for email every minute.
I suppose I can use the phone with just gmail but that is just admitting defeat. I know the phone is capable of better battery life.
This is something Google needs to work on if they want to get with the Enterprise market.
I'm not the only one complaining.
Issue 23971 - android - IMAP idle (PUSH email) is not supported in ICS, in 2012, please read. - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting
K9 mail is not acceptible for my use. I had problems with it.
Now overall, I like the phone for goofing around and playing with as a new gadget. I can't recommend it to anyone in my type of work that requires work to be done.
Things I like to see.
I really like the iOS style notifications in the lock screen. I am hoping someone can show me something in the market that has a clone of this.
Secondly, I really want a working Netflix HD. I ve seen some of the apks floating around by they don't hide the soft buttons and have stability issues.
