Sony is working to bring mainline Linux kernel support to open Xperia devices

Not all Xperia devices are completely open, but those like the Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z3+ are and Sony wants people to be able to do all sorts of things with them.

The company has released guides on how to build the mainline Linux kernel for these open Xperia devices. This means you can get a full Linux distro running on them and that means they can be used for all sorts of projects.
