Stop sync of Picasa images

How the heck do you stop it from syncing the images? I have thousands of images and I don't what them (or the thumbnails) for them all on my phone. Damn I hate google deciding what is best for me.
 
Settings...Accounts & Sync...manage accounts. Uncheck Sync-Picasa Web Albums

If there are no boxes to check or uncheck it is because you have syncing turned off at the moment. Back out to previous window and turn on Background Data and Auto-Sync then go back in to manage accounts.

I usually have Background Data turned off to save battery life. There is a major difference in battery life when the phone is not auto-syncing.
