Help Stuck In Bootloop - Can't boot into CWM

So I got this phone the other day from a friend of mine and he asked for my help to fix it. He doesn't remember what he was last doing on it but everything was stock and it wasnt rooted. Right now if you try to turn it on it just shows the Samsung logo for a few seconds and then turns off again and continues this. I tried using Odin to install CWM on it but nothing happens, its still stuck in the same bootloop even when I try to boot into Recovery by holding the Power+Volume Up. Any ideas?

for cwm to come up, you have to hold volume up first then power on. then when the logo comes up depress the power button but keep the volume up button pressed. thatll take you to recovery.
