Sudden Change In Battery Drain

I have a rooted S3 running Android 4.3.

A few weeks ago the battery started draining much faster. I used to get just over two days out of it but now it's down to one day. I haven't installed any new apps, the radios are off most of the time and the screen brightness is quite low. I got a new battery and conditioned it but the battery drain is the same.

Last night I finished charging the phone at about 7pm. I had a 7 minute phone call at 10pm that took the battery from 98% to about 96%. It was still over 90% when I went to bed. During the night the radios were off and it received no calls or texts so nothing activated the screen but the level dropped to 61% over those 9 hours. The battery analysis says voice calls account for 28% and Android OS 22%. That 28% is clearly BS.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do about this? Will some sort of reset help? If so, which one?

Install Greenify and include everything you don't want running unless you run it. (IOW, don't Greenify the phone app, unless you want all calls to go to voicemail.)

Thanks, I'll give it a go. I think the problem is actually the charger though. Although the charge would instantly drop to 99% when I unplugged a different charger at least the charge only dropped 9% over night instead of 29%!

It's not the battery age, I got a new battery. I don't think it is the charger though, the drain is still rather high and I need to charger every day instead of every other day. Greenify can only stop one app from running, which I was doing myself anyway.

The question remains: WHY HAS MY BATTERY DRAIN INCREASED with no new apps installed?
