Help Surfing on Nexus 7

Nexus 7 owner clear my doubt. I am planning to buy it for surfing internet and watching movies. My question is will pc websites open same as they open on pc. Previous i had a 480p display tablet and pc websites won't open as i want. Nexus7 have a 720p display so i guess sites will open as on pc. Am i right?

You are right, more or less.

By using the correct browser, you can request the PC version of the page instead of the tablet version. (It's a browser function.) I have had no problems since doing this myself.

Just to add - the screen of the N7 (2012) is a bit small read some sites in normal full screen "desktop" mode (including this forum IMO) but if you don't mind scrolling around they open just fine and are easy to read magnified in the default browser (Chrome) which I find more than adequate.

Note that some sites will open in "mobile" mode by default, but Chrome has a simple "Request desktop site" checkbox in the menu that overrides the default. The only downside is the lack of Flash support in Chrome - which can be a blessing in disguise! - and in any case there are other browsers available with Flash support if this is needed.

What about 2013 model with 1980x1080p screen? Will it do better than previous model? Does it worth to buy 2013 for better browsing as i mention above?

It's not the resolution but the physical size - or maybe just my old eyes :-)

I have devices with screen sizes from a 4" Nexus 4 through the 7" Nexus 7 to a 10" Lenovo, all with the same 1280x768 resolution. The only one I can comfortably browse in full screen without using magnification is the 10" Lenovo.

It's not a big deal on the the N7 though, Chrome is very smart about closely-packed links and of course has quick and intuitive zoom, so it's very pleasant to use without much annoyance unless browsing large pages full of fine text - which definitely require a lot of zooming and scrolling around.

I used this site as an example; I can read it easily "unzoomed" on a 10" screen but on a 7" screen I need reading glasses to avoid zooming. I can't read it at all on a 4" screen without using zoom. All screens have the same 1280x768 resolution.

A 7" screen is borderline for me, so if your eyes are better (very likely!) you may not have the same issue I have. But in any case more resolution is not helpful in this case - it doesn't make small text larger, it just makes it sharper.

Thanks for correction. But i was supposing this due to my past experience with 1440p moniter and 1080p moniter. 1440 display more rows than 1080. Thanks again
