Swype Now Available

I have no idea. I was using the on screen keyboard and accidentally dragged my finger a little and noticed it left a blue line. I then tried to Swype a word and discovered that it worked. Just noticed it before creating this thread. It doesn't seem as accurate as the Swype beta I had on my Nokia N97, though. Maybe I just need some practice as I haven't used it at all for over a year.

The Asus keyboard has always had a Swype - like function. It isn't accurate as Swype in my experience either.

I prefer the physical keyboard dock. Sometimes when I don't plan to do a lot of typing, I want to type something and don't feel like reaching for my dock. The Swype feature is much nicer than the on screen keyboard. The on screen keyboards are just too big. I like the iOS 5 keyboard for tablets that is small enough to use your thumbs with while holding the bottom corners of the iPad. I would prefer that over Swype, but the default Swype is good enough for me now.

I've had a bit more practice with the Swype keyboard now. I'm not making as many mistakes as I was initially.

With SwiftKey you can use your thumbs with their special keyboard feature

I turn my TF on a vertical orientation so I can use my thumbs with the Asus keyboard. It works very well without a need to reach. Swype does work well also. It comes down to a matter of preference.

tip for anyone who received a message telling them it won't download because its not an android device: make sure you have your TF in either tablet or mobile mode (go to browser in the upper right hand corner of the screen and click on settings > advanced> user agent string > choose tablet or mobile-phone, NOT Desktop)

I have tried this as well, but found that my thumbs do not comfortably reach all of the buttons. I actually use Swype in portrait so I don't have to drag my finger across the screen as far as the portrait keyboard is smaller.

The latest Beta of Swype is awesome.

There's a keyboard expand/contract button that gives you a small or full screen keyboard to work with in either landscape or portrait.

I'm thrilled with this version! And, they finally got it so the app can auto-update itself instead of having to using the installer. Another huge improvement.
