Help Task Killer

Hello all...

Just upgraded my original MyTouch with a MyTouch 4g. The gentleman at the T-Mobile store told me that I wont be needing a task killer as they have reconfigured things so that the battery is not used up with applications running in the back ground. Is this true? My wife has a MyTouch Slide and she uses a task killer and every time she hits the button, it will say something like five applications are running, even though she was only sending a text.

Thanks for your insights.

Well I dont use one and my battery is pretty solid. With more use obviously the more battery you will use but if you use it an average amount, you'll be good.

I recommend not using the task killer at all. Your salesperson seems very knowledgable. THey have configured the phone to have the applications that are running in the background not take up much or at all of the battery. If you have a task killer your just adding another application to the mix that will kill all the apps your using. A task killer is no longer beneficial on android.
