Root temporary r/w on cynanogen 12.1

i was on the zte grand x max plus rooting thread and i found this written by Christopherco

I have gained system r/w access through this process : open terminal and type su You should get # Then type : dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery Then I type : reboot recovery when my phone booted back up, I had full rights and deleted some system apps. When I rebooted again I no longer had full rights but the system apps did not come back. This is just one more step towards full rights over system. Hope this helps.

i tried it on my zmax running cynanogen and it seems to work. just wanted to state it

This method is obsolete and possibly dangerous because it leaves you with no recovery installed. Also, we already have flashable zips that give us write access to system without losing twrp.

No you can't. They are for the zmax only and every ROM has to have its own set.

Gotcha, just wondered cause the Max plus users the zmax twrp right now.

What you might be able to do is grab a pair of the switcher & restore zips and replace the boot.img inside with the one from your phone
