Thanksgiving 2O24

Never Imitated....Highly Medicated
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Just curious what everyone's plans are? If you're traveling by air I wish you good luck, after watching the Today Show, it sounds like a complete dumpster fire.

I'll be heading to pickup my tax deduction ( as @The_Chief would say ) from college on Monday and return her on Sunday.

On Thanksgiving we'll have my dad over with the sister and her crew coming from Nash-Vegas.

Looking forward to having the daughter home. She hasn't been home since July 23rd as she plays college soccer and can't come home in the fall semester because of the commit it involves.

It's always a busy week for me and the wife. We have two children that celebrate birthdays next week. I have an optometrist appointment. We will have a come and go traditional dinner Thursday. Some will eat and some just visit. I always cook a dinner at the cabin that my buddies all contribute and celebrate. It is looking like that will go down Saturday. It's always fun to share a meal with family and friends. I have a lot to be thankful for this year. I wish everyone a fun and safe holiday.

just bought a fresh turkey. i do not feel safe leaving it in the fridge so i am going to freeze, and then thaw it out and brine it on wednesday. i am planning on spatchcocking it and then grill it.

i also plan on making a sweet potato gratin, an orzo green bean salad, and some cornbread stuffing.

I should be so lucky as to just one last round of turkey and all the other stuff. I'm going to vac seal and freeze a bunch of turkey for a return match in the future. We will have turkey dinner again tonight and then sandwiches sometime over the weekend. The reminder is doomed for the dumper. It was fun but I am done.
Our dinner was good but naturally there was far too much of everything. It was a fun meal to share with the family but was overshadowed by the sheer fun of spending time with some of my family.
