The Dark Side - draw of new phones?

Hi everyone! This thread is meant to be both "for fun" and also constructive 😀

So with the upcoming release of various new phones such as - off the top of my head - the Galaxy Note 4, the Galaxy Alpha, or...

*gasp*

...the iPhone 6, how does everyone feel with their HTC One M8? Is what we have enough to keep you with the HTC family? Or do you have interest in another Android phone? Or perhaps a (for some) return to iOS?

I'd like to hear everyone's perspective and opinions!

My experience is that of an iPhone 3g, iPhone 4s, and then a Galaxy S5 (for a week before returning it) and then the M8 (for a few months now).

I'm honestly torn. I like the luxury look and feel of the M8 along with the freedom and customization of Android, but I also miss the simplicity of iOS. Also I think the phone is a bit too heavy for my taste (carrying it around in your pocket at the gym is like carrying around an extra weight in your gym shorts, lol)

I also miss the iPhone cameras which, in my opinion, are overall solid. The M8 camera is fine, but I definitely prefer that of an iPhone or even the GS5.

Again, just my opinions. I'm currently a bit torn between sticking with my M8 or jumping ship back to the iPhone 6 when it comes out. May wait and see what the reviews and opinions are on the phone before I make any hasty decisions.

I would definitely miss Blinkfeed though as I've grown a bit attached to it!

I really like my M8. I haven't seen anything coming out this year that makes me want to change. I really like the speakers and the screen look is closer to an HD TV than the Note line. Needless to say I watch a lot of video content on this thing,

I previously had the Note 2 and Note 3. They are great phones and frankly, I miss some of the cool features and the slightly larger screen and the replaceable battery.

That being said, I love my M8 for the most part, especially the speakers. This phone and Sense 6 are just lightening fast. The battery life is surprisingly very good for such a slim device. The camera is as responsive as I have ever experienced on a phone.

IMO, HTC could have focused their efforts better by creating a solid user environment instead of gimmicky cameras and gallery. The bloatware on this phone is to the extreme. I have adjusted and will keep it for a while. I look forward to see what is included in the new Note 4, but I still think the M8 is the best phone on the market.

iPhone? Not for me. I steer away from anything proprietary. Friends don't let friends buy iPhones. :D

Being fairly new to Android, I too am curious about what the Note 4 has to offer. I've heard its the powerhouse of Android phones. It'd probably be a bit too big for me in size, but I still wanna see what they have to offer since I just love tech 😊

loving my m8 still :) had it about 4 months now i think - still running sense...although viperOne style ;) great phone - cant stand ios - mrs dan has iphone 5s - horrid! :( :D

cheers

Quite honestly, I will NOT give Samsung on VZW another chance. If At&t or Sprint ever actually get decent 4G coverage, I may give Samsung another chance. Ever since my whole GS4 debacle, I have wanted nothing more than to go back to HTC. So I don't care what Samsung comes up with next, I will not be giving them another chance.

As for an iPhone.... I have owned a couple iTouch's and I always hated being locked down so much. Granted they do seem to just work and really rarely have any kind of major issues, I like being able to really customize. I know the new iOS versions are starting to incorporate more customization's, but I just cannot believe that they would be anything close to what Android offers.

As for any other flagship Android phones, I am quite happy with my One M8. I am super happy with stock, unrooted M8 goodness and if I ever get bored, I can just root and get a whole new phone, free of charge (well, mostly...).

Kratos

I can't imagine another phone that would wow me away from my M8. It's by far the most stable smooth operating phone I've ever owned. I also share Krato's thoughts that if boredom should set in, it will be time to explore root and rom options.

The only phone that even compares to the m8 in my eyes is LG G3. Even with a different launcher on the LG G3, I don't think I would prefer it to the m8.

Anything Apple or even Samsung I stay away from.
