The SD Association is a non-profit group that sets memory card standards for other companies to use.
They've just announced the SmartSD. A microSD card with some code in it that will let any device that uses it to make mobile payments. Not only that, but they feel it can be used for location-based services, advertising coupons, transportation, rewards programs and other IoT devices.
