Does it connect to other wifis other then home? Have you recently downloaded anything? Is the home WiFi not showing in your paired list?

How do I make it show other networks? When i try to turn it on its grey and slides right back too off, but it looks like i have the green bars (does that me its connect to wifi? I did download some stuff but took it all off and cleaned it of trash, i mught o a factory reset and root all over again if i cant figure this out?? But b4 i do that could u tell me how to get it to show other wifi networks? i cant seem to find any??

If the WiFi is gray and won't turn on then other networks won't show. You can try and go into WiFi and if it turns on do a search. If the WiFi is on you will have a fan like symbol well signal bar it starts small then it goes up n its colored normally blue or green depending on the phone. Have you tried a batt pull after you uninstalled the apps? I have had this issue before n mine was an app. If the batt pull doesn't fix or it won't turn on I would try a factory reset.

WiFi symbol right next to my signal bar!

Anything like that show up on yours? Plus sign on mine is to manually connect to WiFi. I have a galaxy nexus unrooted but the settings should be similar

no its just the boos signal bars was reading htc site and this is an issue said it should be fixed in updates???? but im not too sure been reading about this in forms going back to 2012

It was working before you downloaded those apps? That evo as far as I'm aware hasn't been getting any sw updates recently. If it was working before you downloaded the apps it was something you downloaded that caused it and there are times that just uninstalling doesn't always fix it.

yeah i just did a factory erase and am updating very slowly, lol if that dont work ill go into ir and do a hard rest and re-flash it, thank 4 replying!

just wanted to let you know i just flashed the stock img on it and all is good! 6 hours messing with this i really think it was the updat i applied, tomorrow ill root and no more updates!!!! thanks 4 your help!

What stock image did you use I am having the same wifi problem and haven't been able to fix it with anything?

If your wifi shows it is "trying" to turn on but never does, then its a kernel problem. Just means that the kernel version being used doesn't match up with your kernel modules on your device. Whenever a kernel is built from source modules are built with it. They must match or stuff breaks and WiFi being one of them. Just flash your stock boot.img. If that doesn't resolve it, then you need a stock /system which holds the stock modules.

I resolved this problem in my kernel source a week or so ago for my K2_CL device by disabling module support so that my kernels can be used with any version of modules without conflicts. Took me a while to figure it out lol.
