Thinking about trading in Maxx HD for S5 or M8

I currently have a Razr Maxx HD and I LOVE the battery life, but the phone is a little slow and I am due for an upgrade. Has anyone else here gone from a Maxx to another phone? If so, did you regret losing the battery? That's the only thing I'm worried about it. No matter how fast the S5 and M8 are if the battery life is less than 75% of the Maxx HD than it won't be worth it.

See my post about my S-L-O-W Razr Maxx HD and how I corrected that problem. I haven't done enough research yet on the S5 to make the jump, but I did try one out this weekend, WOW that thing is fast!

I went from the Bionic to the Maxx.
I could see going from a Droid Maxx to the Maxx.
I couldn't see that much of an improvement going from a Droid Maxx HD to the Maxx.

I think you have a very powerful device and with a little tweaking the performance will come back. It is likely being eaten by one ore more apps that you added.

Thanks! I have disabled some of the apps and it is working faster. When KitKat comes...if it comes then I will do a Factory Data Reset to see if that will help at all.

Try running in Safe Mode (disabling all apps you added without uninstalling them). If performance is back to great then you know it is caused by an app that you added. You then get to find out which one.

I'm running kit kat on my Razr HD Maxx. The performance is night and day. Wait for kk and then decide.

I've played with the M8 and it is really nice. Well built (for an HTC) and the quad core is really snappy. What I dislike is Sense. Stupid things like it always creates new contacts as phone contacts by default so they don't get backed up unless you remember each time to change the setting. Sense is also flat and ugly. Has an SD slot which is nice. Screen is gorgeous.
