Root Trying to temp root to remove bloatware

Lurker
I have tried several guides to no avail, and it seems everything I am doing is wrong. I have installed the SDK following the instructions found here (Howto: Install the Android SDK - CyanogenMod Wiki), and yes the device serial number gets listed under adb devices. Then I used z4root 1.3. This does absolutely nothing but hang the phone causing it to need the battery pulled. I have tried the official HTC Sync software to no avail as well. I am simply looking for a way to gain TEMPORARY root access to get rid of the crapware on the Android (like the Amazon MP3 app, Twitter, etc). I dont want to, nor am I attempting to flash my phone or do anything to permanently alter it in a manner that Sprint wouldn't like. Does anything work for what I am trying to do?

So what happens if I "downgrade", will that reset after I reboot? To me a downgrade is like going from Windows 7 to Windows Vista, and isn't a good thing...

The only reason to downgrade is so that full root can be achieved. If you just want temp root you'll have to run those commands from your pc after every reboot.

A lot of people seem to think they are losing something by downgrading, you're not. You downgrade, perm root then you can flash whatever Gingerbread (or ICS) ROM you want. There's even a completely stock rooted 2.3.3 Sense 2.1 ROM, it's basically the official update from Sprint only rooted.

The whole purpose of downgrading is to get the older hboot, which is exploitable.
