I have a 2009 Jeep GC with UConnect Bluetooth-paired to a Droid2 or, recently, the amazing Droid4.
However, every time I say "Call (some name)" and that name's Droid phone contact has more than one phone number, e.g., 3 numbers for "Work", "Home", and "Mobile", UConnect always asks me to select a "Line #" with no reference to the phone number label. If there are 5 numbers for a person, then I have to choose line 1-5.
E.g., I say, "Call Wanda Home" and Wanda has 3 numbers. UConnect responds with "Please select a line number" and displays something like ...
Select Line:
Many users in many forums have reported this exact problem but I have yet to see a single meaningful reply that didn't miss the point entirely. This makes it impossible to use Bluetooth to dial. If I can't dial on the phone (as in almost always), I have to select a line number, wait till it dials, look at the displayed phone number it just dialed, it is usually wrong (25% chance is Wanda had 4 numbers) then say cancel when it is wrong, and try the next "line". It can take me 5 minutes to call 1 number while being a distracted driver.
I basically cannot use Bluetooth to dial now. My old "feature phones" all worked perfectly, like the LG VX6000 and LG VX8350. It would allow me to say "Call Wanda Home", it would ask to confirm, then dial, just like you'd expect.
Anyone have any clarifications or solutions to this major ubiquitous problem? If you don't, that's OK. No need to reply. Thank you.
